Karl V. Fort
Karl V. Fort is a Rockford, Illinois, native and the author of Never Count Me Among the Broken Men. His memoir traces his life through neighborhood leadership, federal incarceration, education, reentry, and community advocacy.
After nearly twenty-seven years in federal custody, Karl returned home in 2019. His present work centers on personal accountability, mentoring, reentry support, housing stability, and redirecting leadership toward community development.
